„You have arthrosis and want to lead an active life despite your condition?“
Arthrosis Therapy
More than just joint replacement
Long ago, modern therapy for joint wear stopped consisting solely of artificial joint replacement. The incorporation of a joint replacement, as the ultimo ratio or final resort, is at the bottom of the list in the series of therapeutic options for arthrosis.
At our practice, we start by first performing an exacting analysis of the shape and condition of the joint in question, particularly of the cartilage. This is done by clinical examination, X-ray, ultrasound and, if appropriate, MRI. Next, after reviewing the aggregate results in conjunction with the patient’s personal demands, the best treatment options are proposed. Meanwhile, a long list of treatment options have become available based on physical and medical, biological and regenerative, pharmacological and naturopathic as well as nutritional approaches.
The various possible therapeutic approaches include:
- Rest, icing and soothing dressings
- Drug treatment in the form of tablets or injections
- Injections with cartilage bone-building agents (e.g. hyaluronic acid)
- Injections with homeopathic preparations (e.g. Traumeel)
- PRP therapy with natural growth factors in autologous conditioned plasma (ACP)
- Targeted movement and stabilization exercises
- Acupuncture and magnetic field therapy
- Arthroscopic therapy for arthrosis (key-hole surgery)
- Artificial joint replacement / total arthroplasty (performed at the hospital)

Our Spine Center
The new Spinemed Therapy developed in the USA
The Spine Center unites the complete range of spinal diagnostics and therapy.
At some point in their lifetimes, just about everyone is affected by some spinal disorder or another. Too much sitting and too little exercise are the most common causes for pain in this region.
Our treatment concept consists of carefully rending an accurate diagnosis based on physical examination, X-ray, dynamic and/or static 3-D spinal measurements, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and then establishing a therapeutic strategy comprising chirotherapy/manual medicine, drugs, neural therapy, injections, prescription of orthotic insoles and/or non-surgical spinal decompression according to the SpineMED method. Patients are intentionally encouraged to get involved to ensure the most successful long-term therapeutic outcome.

Shockwave Therapy
A technical master Achievement
Shockwave therapy was actually developed for urological indications and established to break up kidney stones. This novel procedure proved very successful and considerably reduced the number of surgeries necessary in this sector. Around the middle/end of the 90’s, we orthopaedic and trauma surgeons came to adopt this procedure from the urologists. Meanwhile, it has likewise become well-established in orthopaedics as well.
Shockwave therapy works with high-energy pressure waves. These dissolve calcium deposits and the likes in a targeted manner and stimulate the body’s endogenous recovery. The healing of many symptoms in the whole body can be induced by targeted shockwave therapy (focused, radial or trigger point). Classical indications to be mentioned here include tendinitis calcarea of the shoulder, also called calcific tendonitis, tennis elbow or golfer’s elbow as well as heel spurs. However, our current treatment spectrum extends far beyond this.
As with cars, shockwave therapy equipment also shows substantial differences in terms of performance and price. Our practice employs the most technologically advanced devices currently available on the German market. Our system enables focused/extracorporeal, but also radial therapy or even a combination of the two forms. The system additionally features an integrated sonography unit, making pinpoint application, e.g. targeting of the calcium deposit, possible. The market launches of the devices used by us were in March 2012 and September 2014. We were one of the first centers in Germany to work with these state-of-the-art and highly effective devices.
