These include the prescription of special orthotic insoles, ortheses or immobilization with a plaster cast. When shoe and orthotic insoles are to be prescribed, foot pressure and treadmill analyses can also be helpful. In particular, shockwave therapy is administered to treat heel spurs and inflammation of the plantar fascia. Sometimes, arthroscopic surgery is necessary.
